In 2008 Zoo Media and Entertainment performed in this same theatre. They instantly liked the warmth of the Theatre, but little did they know that by the end of the same year, the Theatre would be under their management and refurbished in such a way as to become one of the best theatres on our Islands. At last, the dream of having their own theatre where to perform their works and at the same time helping other artistic companies perform theirs, came true. Over the years they developed a unique insight as to what a performing arts centre should provide to both audience and entertainer alike, and thus CITY THEATRE caters for all that which any artistic group needs to perform its works.
In August 2008, with the help of a skilled design, a construction team began the task of transforming the old theatre into City Theatre. With all due respect for the building’s past achievements and with an eye to the future, on the 20th December 2008 The City Theatre opened its doors – Their dream became a reality!
